Shari Green writes fiction and poetry for children and young adults. Her latest book, SONG OF FREEDOM, SONG OF DREAMS, is a 2024 Governor General’s Literary Award finalist. Her verse novels also include GAME FACE, a Junior Library Guild Gold Standard selection and IODE Violet Downey Book Award finalist; MISSING MIKE, an NCTE Notable Verse Novels selection and USBBY Outstanding International Books selection; MACY McMILLAN AND THE RAINBOW GODDESS, a Schneider Family Book Award winner, Junior Library Guild selection, IBBY Outstanding Books for Young People With Disabilities selection, and USBBY Outstanding International Books selection; and ROOT BEER CANDY AND OTHER MIRACLES, an IYL White Ravens selection. Shari loves being out in nature and can often be found wandering the beaches and forest trails near her home. She lives with her husband on Vancouver Island, BC, Canada, on the traditional territory of the Laich-Kwil-Tach peoples.
